Himalayas

From summit to street, this collection follows the Himalaya and the lives lived beneath it. Kangchenjunga glows at sunrise, Ama Dablam rises through drifting cloud and above a glacial valley, Cho Oyu catches the last light and golden clouds gather behind Everest and Lhotse. Lower down, tea pickers work green hillsides, elderly tailors bend over vintage sewing machines and monks in maroon robes drum and dance in the courtyard of Tengboche Monastery. A sadhu with a painted face, women gathered in a sunlit Bhaktapur street, men at a game beneath carved pillars and macaques grooming on a stone ledge complete a portrait of a region shaped by altitude, faith and daily routine.

The snow-covered Kangchenjunga massif glows orange and pink at sunrise above dark, shadowed ridges and a pale blue sky.
